Young Engineers Program

Certificate II in Engineering Studies

The certificate course provides the basic knowledge of practical skills at an entry level necessary to work effectively in the automotive engineering and design environment. Students will study basic engineering and design with an automotive focus.

Ford Australia will support the course with the provision of class resources and the opportunity for students to visit Ford sites.

Outcomes

  • Completion of a Certificate II in Engineering
  • Equivalency to VCE Units 1, 2, 3, and 4
  • A study score contributing towards your ATAR results.
  • A unique insight into Ford Australia’s engineering processes.
  • Gain valuable work skills in an industry work place.

Pathways

There are many career opportunities for students who have completed a VET Engineering Certificate.

  • TAFE for certificate level courses
  • University when combined with your VCE, degree and diploma courses available through most universities

Enrolment

Students must be currently enrolled at a senior secondary college. Students should be VCE enrolled and have a keen interest in the automotive industry and be supported by good literacy and numeracy levels. Year 10 students with a solid academic record will be considered. VCAL students aspiring to working the automotive field will be assessed on interview and/or school reference.
